Dr. Matthew Hillebrand
Dr. Matthew Hillebrand graduated from Oregon State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. During this time, he spent two years in Washington State University and earned doctorate degrees from both schools.
Dr. Hillebrand met his wife, Kristi, while in school on an externship here in Arizona. His first professional job was in Las Vegas, Nevada. He grew tired of the glitz and glitter and moved back here to Arizona in 1996. That same year, he married Kristi.
Early in his career, he spent time in both small animal and equine practice. Equine practice was fun, but that gave way to practicing small animal emergency medicine full time.
As time went on, he realized that even though emergency medicine offered great challenges, and was a wonderful learning experience, the stress and odd hours required were not great on a new family. By now he had two young boys, Hayden, and Justin.
Seeing a need for a career change, and an opportunity in our community, Dreaming Summit Animal Hospital was born. Although not too many horses walk through the doors these days, the experience gained from both equine practice, day time and emergency medicine has helped Dreaming Summit become what it is today.
When not working on pets, Dr. H enjoys wood working, scuba diving and gardening.
Dr. Lauren Schneider
